OH WHAT FUN IT IS TO RIDE, Long post, not a rant.

I figured it’d be safe to post this here considering how I’m not being angsty about anything.


Ok, before I tell everyone what just happened I need to mention what went on exactly three weeks ago first. Ok so my mother dropped me off at school that morning and I did all my classes and such. So then I got off the buss and as I entered my house I was surprised to find out that my mother got in a car wreck on the way back after dropping me off. She wasn’t injured but the van (yes, van) got totaled. So then she managed to get a new car. A 2001 Toyota or something.

Okay now I need to make one more note before we get to the good part. I had a doctor’s appointment about a week or so ago that my mother wound up delaying on account of how it was during a class period which was having a test. So she moved it to last Monday after school. For some reason we forgot all about it until that night. Mom then called them and moved the appointment to this after noon during the second half of school, just before the class before our last on of the day was over.

So then there I was in the front seat of the car with my older brother behind the wheel. I decided to recline my chair all the way back and snooze until we got to the doctors office. I remember smelling a skunk so I decided to cover my nose with my hood of my jacket until the smell was gone. After that I then decide to put the hood over my eyes to help me sleep. So there I was, relaxing, listening to the rodeo.

TAKE A LONG HARD THOUGHT ABOUT MIGHT HAVE HAPPENED NEXT!

Ok so all of a sudden I hear a loud “EERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!” and all I was able to think at that moment was “…?” because about a split second later I hear a loud thump outside the car, the car jolts, and I smell something burning. At that moment I then think something along the lines of “The car crashed didn’t it?” and then something like “Didn’t mom get in a wreck a few weeks ago?” I then take the hood off from over my eyes and realize I’m smelling smoke in the car, you could see it too. And then I think “Crap I better get out of the car! It might explode!” I then try to get out from my side and find that my door couldn’t open so after my brother go out a rushed out after. I later found out it was just the air bags. Yea, they do something or other related to heat because the air bag gave my brother 1st degree burns (according to one of the medics that came by). Thank fully no one was hurt. As for how the car turned out… ugh…

So anyway I’m just fine now. I don’t have full knowledge on what happened on account of the hood over my head. But I think being reclined like that reduced the impact for me, I barely moved. I wasn’t too upset after it happened (unlike my brother); I think that’s because I didn’t see any of it as it happened and I wasn't driving. I just may make a comic relating to this in the future. XD

O.o That is scary. It's sounds like your mom should go back to drivers ED. >.>

If you were relaxed, your muscles didn't tense up while you were wrecking, so that could explain some of it too. Sounds a bit scary, and sorry about your bro's injuries.

edit: J-3, the first wreck was by his mom, but the second was his brother.

Eh, don't worry about it too much. The medic said being burnt by the air bag was normal and it won’t get any worse.

So, what exactly made your brother crash?

A cross guard said the people in front of us stopped the car when they shouldn't have giving my brother no time to stop himself. There was no one using the crosswalk and there was no stop sign. As to why the people in front of us stoped, I have no idea.

Thank God nobody got seriously hurt, or worse... If that happened to me I'd be hyperventalating by now, maybe it was not seeing it happen but you sure were brave!

That unfortuneately, in most cases, puts your brother at fault for the accident.

If this is true then I know how we can get the money to pay off any lawsuts.
