Haha, I hope you don't think that article on Ken Lobb was serious.
Anyway, the one thing that was true about this article is how radically Nintendo's direction changed come the Nintendo 64; the fact of the matter is that there were A LOT of employees and Nintendo who sort of disagreed with Nintendo's direction with the 64/rebelled against Yokoi's strategy, and as such they were "thrown out with the trash". A perfect example of this was Intelligent Systems and R&D1's "civil war" which remains one of the few internal struggles inside of Nintendo. Essentially, the two were the same development team both under Yokoi's supervision, but there were those who wanted to man the disaster of the Virtual Boy, and those who wanted to focus their energy on consoles and upcoming hardware. Yokoi was given the responsibility to do both, and because of his failure with the Virtual Boy he got ultimately no say in what "Nintendo was to do next". Following Yokoi's death and departure, the development team split into two (R&D1 and Intelligent Systems) - they only once again collaborated with the production of DS software like WarioWare Touched, and Fire Emblem 9.
And yeah...this guy's article, as long as it may be, was really hard to follow. It reminds me of some of the "Yokoi was killed by Nintendo" theories I've seen floating around (it's really funny he even brought that up in this article gklhkdfjhd).
