Hey, everybody. I'm here again to present you another game of me called Boo's Castle. It's Halloween and Mario is trapped in a Ghost Castle full of Boo. Mario needs to escape this place fast and you need to find keys to open doors to other chambers.

For now I only have lots of screenshots of the first 7 level's.

Screenshots

PS: I know the number and titles look a bit strange cause they hang everywhere, but if you see the demo which will be posted soon, you'll see why.

Feel free to post any questions and first impressions laugh.gif

Man, this looks really good but unfortunatley the High Score Table is a tad hard to read.
Make its text stand out a tad more.

Yeah, I'm still working on the highscore board, maybe if I lower the transpiracy and if I use dark gray, instead of light gray.

This looks good (only problem with me is the SMA2 Mario sprites, always looked ugly to me).

I think this is too long to qualify as a minigame.

You can easily put two screenshots next to each other, that will shrink the size of the first post.

I think this is too long to qualify as a minigame.

The levels are quite short, but fun. And the levels get randomised, one level is never the same.

IMO, it's too long to be a minigame, but I don't think the competition has any rule against long games.

That was quite... I guess the word is "epic." It got just puzzly enough to have some flavor while not becoming a game with puzzles that make your brain work overtime. The only thing that brought it down was the floaty engine--that got immensely annoying, especially in Spoilers:
the stage where the floor falls out from under you
. (Not sure spoiler tags are necessary, but whatever.)

What do you mean with floaty?

Floatiness is the lack of friction--the more floaty a game's engine is, the harder it is to stop or turn around.

Not bad... Though the 'ultimate ghost house' level made me tear my hair out. I kept on walking through walls and the moving platform thing... Very annoying, and yeah, lack of friction. The level design is very nice though.

You guys are quite lucky that I have a little sister. Because first the level with the doors: each door led to another door, but that door led to another, and that one again to another,... until you got all doors + there were about 8 more doors, for me it was already very hard (it took me about 15 minutes), my sister gave it up, so I made normal doors :-)

Excellent game! A few issues, though. The level with the floor falling? Yeah. PAIN IN THE BUTTOX. The controls are a little tough to handle, too. Those aside, this is still an enjoyable experience! I loved the waving font, too! Very well programmed game, if I do say so myself! biggrin.gif
