Saddam Hussein found guilty, sentenced to death

If they were gonna kill him, they should've gone with lethal injection. Isn't hanging considered cruel and unusual by today's standards?

Saddam being hung? Well finally! I don't care how funny a person he is! Just to let you all know, though, I don't support the death penalty, but I'm not exactly against it either. This man has done so much negative work, and I say it's about time! He gets what he deserved!

Though, I do feel bad saying "Go ahead! Take a life!", but then again, guilt hasn't stopped him...

Yeah, being hung by a rope and having my neck snapped when I fall sounds cruel and unusual to me.

Isn't the man himself cruel and unsual, though?

cruel and unusual punishment depends on a country's standards (and i don't think the un can do much about it), and aren't hangings usually instant death anyway?

I suppose so, but they still could've used poison gas or a LI. Well, at least they don't have an Iron Maiden. Ouchies.

Maybe. Yeah, a LI would be better.

An electric chair would've been more subtle. But then of course, those things make your electricity bills skyrocket.

If done properly the neck should snap and the victim will die instantly. However, without much trouble, the rope can be fiddled with, and the victim will die a slow death. Guess which one Saddam gets.

I can see you don't know anything about hanging.

Whether the rope is modified or not, occasionally, their neck will not snap. They will suffocate instead.

This sounds bad. Life in jail would've been better.
You should only kill someone if they are about to kill you or if they are about to kill someone else. Saddam was harmless in his position.

Even though he deserves it I find his death sentence rather simple. He should suffer greatly for all that he hass done, not just die on a flinch
