I just feel like talking about a game series called Trackmania.
The first Trackmania game was, well... Trackmania! You have 3 environments to choose from: Desert, Alpine and Rally-- Each with their own different car.
Desert: A, well... Desert! It has barren landscape (barren means that there is nothing on it) and quite a few blocks to choose from. you have the starting block (duh) normal roads, speed boosts, hills, bumps, ramps, little ramps on the side of the road (:P) and many more!
Alpine: Don't know much about this (I only have the demo version) but it is a Winter scene with buildings and stuff...
Rally: Ok, I haven't even seen anything about this before... I'm just guessing, but it's probably a course with no walls unless you are above ground. Like a rally race.
Trackmania has a couple of expansions for it. Power up! and Original (huh? If it was expanded, it can't be the Original :P) Each with extra pieces and tracks.
2nd in the series is Trackmania Sunrise. The environments in this one are Island, Bay, and Coast.
Island: kinda obvious...
Bay: a track with no walls and is made of pavement. It features the standard tracks and like, chain-link grates to drive on (don't woory, thay are safe... except for the part about having no walls :P)
Coast: almost the same as island but isn't. Has buildings and such. The tracks are in a differant style too...
3rd in the series is the free full version of Trackmania Nations. There is only one envoinment in this one: Stadium.
It features a grassy ground surrounded by walls and the usual pieces, track, ramps and the such. The suprise is... LOOPS! They brought bigger loops that in TM original! and Quarterpipes used in a way that YOU (I mean
YOU) can make full pipes and such.
Nadeo is currently working on a 4th game in the series called Trackmania United. It has
ALL SEVEN ENVIRONMENTS FROM ORIGINAL, SUNRISE AND NATIONS plus
OTHER ADD-ONS like over 1,000 plocks to choose from in every environment! Stadium is COMPLETELY remade from scratch and now has dirt road pieces along woth the concrete ones. No other info has been posted except for the website.
