Wii Channels Release Dates, wha?

Well it wasn't obvious to everyone, and I have to admit I had my own suspicions. Certain Wii channels will not be functioning until later in the Wii's life.

Today's news tells you this:
- Wii Forecast and Wii News won't be working on your launch Wii for awhile
- December 20th you can receive your first local weather on your Nintendo Wii. You can also navigate a 3D rendering of Earth to view weather from all over the planet. The big name partner Nintendo is using is called Weathernews.
- Wii News will be coming to you from one of the most reputable news pipelines in the world. The Associated Press. Expect Wii News updates from the AP starting January 27th.

Sweet.

Oh well. The forecast thing is nice, but I won't cry about it.

And I don't even care about the news channel one bit. There's news all over the place.

wtf is Wii Channels.

Doesn't make much of a difference to me. By the time I'll end up getting the console both will be available.

Then again they can't stick a Wii launch headline on the news if the news comes after the Wii.

I hate Associated Press because three times in my computer's lifespan, the sound of the news from them was on until I shut down the comp and there was no way to get rid of it.

Maybe there will be new channels in the future too

EDIT: the forecast thing doesnt matter to me since I wont be able to play until I get wii on christmas

Nothing out of the ordinary, Nintendo just needs time to perfect and get their servers up.

Being the news junkie I am, I think they should also give options to check other agencies like Reuters.
But that's just me.
