Well, as i said, it apperas to be not mini enough to fit in that topic, so i dared to open another one to discuss it.

Jasper Saves Halloween.

The game features a top-down view, with zoom and such, but is still fully 2d (all the graphics were made by me).
The main character is Jasper, the boo buddy. But he is more like a cursor, because
you move him with your mouse and use him to control Luigi, who is searching the Boo Tower for Mario. (the story is explained in a cutscene).

Be sure to use "help!!!" from the main menu or read the help.txt file (which is exactly the same) to understand the way to play this game.

The current version of the game has 20 levels, but it does not have an ending cutscene yet, i left it out to save time. Maybe if people like the game i'll add the cutscene and some new gameplay elements/levels in a patch.
You can actually create your own levels after you get familiar with this game. All levels are taken from 22x22 bmp files (because the game is based on tiles). The color codes are included. You must name your level "xx.bmp", where "xx" is a number from 01 to 99. The game reads all levels until a "xx.bmp" file is missing, and then it ends. So, you can replace my levels with yours or add your ones after mine. Just name them properly, the game will stop after "20.bmp" if here is no "21.bmp", so the 22.bmp won't be accesible.

Please try "zoom in" and check out how much extra effort i put in the graphics before i realized that the zoom is unlikely to ever be used...

I'm also very curious about which level did you get to, what do you think of the intro and such things. Please write everything you think of the game. (it'll be cool if somebody atually likes the game enough to make few custom levels, like my beta-tester).

Well, if it's too large, dont count it as a minigame. I'm still interested in your opinions. laugh.gif

EDIT: I just played other minigames and now i think my game's not large. Isn't Flipiberke's larger? I mean, its a platformer! (no offence, i liked that game)
So don't count me out of the comp yet. And please actually comment the game. nod.gif

Even more zoom (i'm just too proud to have coded zoom by myself, using only the ability to scale tiles and position them). Luigi is going forward to the exit, kicking a koopa shell in front of him. You can see a smashed Bony Beetle (dont worry, it'll be alright pretty soon) and another one which still lives. Jasper just floats and watches Luigi.

Well yeah, you'll have to get used to it. I have passed every level when i was making them, but my record is now the 14th level (when i play the game how it is meant to be played).
In my humble opinion, the gameplay gets pretty intense after the first levels and i like the way it came out.

But please leave more detailed comments, i've put SOME effort in this y'know... biggrin.gif

Okay, i fail to see why nobody can say anything about my game. Is it really that bad? Then you could possibly say how bad it is, instead of absolute silence. mad.gif

I have a question now. Please answer it. After the minigame compo ends, i plan to finish this game, which includes adding some levels, new graphical sets instead the of the only one the game now has, adding new objects and tile types, adding a proper ending cutscene, high score system and saving after an episode (for example, the first 10 levels will still be boo house themed, then the player saves his game, and the next 10 levels are, say, bowser's castle or underground cave themed).

Probably i'll remove the possibility to create your own levels after i complete the game fully.

So guys, answer this question: do you want me to do all that, or does everybody just not give a **** about it, like it seems? I spent a whole week programming and drawing the graphics, you know, and the way everybody on this forum ignores my work is just not fair. sad.gif

It is a very good game. It's just that the fangame discussion board is usually not very active.

Firstly, it's only been A DAY.
Secondly- this game is nice. their's no need to flip because of no-one posting, i may sound mean but... Dont expect people to jump to your topic straight away, you aren't that popular (yet)
