Do you feel incredibly stupid looking while playing it?

My guess is that the remote shaped controller and motion sensitivity gimmick will get old fast, and most games will have you hold it sideways.

Discuss.

I have yet to feel stupid while playing this. However I have felt stupid playing Wario Ware Twisted and Touch infront of others. Also I doubt this "gimmick" will get old fast. Mice for computers havent got old, and neither have the classic button mashing controllers.

Yet mice and controllers are a lot more practical than a remote. In my opinion, Nintendo took this innovation idea way too far.

False. They haven't taken it far enough...

True, we have yet to have controllers where we use our feet or a virtual reality helmet.

I definitely don't feel stupid at all. If anything, it's just as stupid as holding any other controller, so if you don't want to ruin your "cool" image might as well not play videogames!

There's still a lot more that the remote is capable of doing, especially in enhancing certain gameplay aspects. There's been some parts in Twilight Princess which I realize wouldn't be as cool on the GCN version.

Too far? How did they take it too far? Would you prefer Sony's Sixaxis crap?

No, I prefer the 360.

I like Xbox360, however they are being really conservative (it works though). Nintendo just brought something new into the market, and it works really well and its not over the top as in say the whole virtual reality market that was going on a few years back that didnt get really far.

The only problem with the Wii is that there is not enough 3rd party, I hope there's more third party on the Wii than there was on the GCN. On the Game Cube the only games really worth buying were the ones made by Nintendo and the few third party and multiplatform ones we got. On the PS2 we got new franchises such as God of War, Kingdom Hearts, Devil May Cry, etc. I'm not exactly complaining as I like Nintendo games, but it might draw away some gamers that there isn't anything other than Nintendo made games and a few third party games. Time will tell though.

Do you mean "third party games"? Because only 3 of the 21 launch games were Nintendo developed titles.

Yeah that and the fact that Hudson, Lucasarts, Capcom, Konami, EA, Bandai/Namco, SEGA, Activision, Ubisoft, and Square-Enix have all committed multiple titles to it this early in the game (and, one should note... far more in most cases than they are on PS3 and Xbox 360 combined); and some even have stated outright that they're more excited for the Wii than they are the other consoles.

If anything you look cool. People see you having fun interacting with the game and want to try it out for themselves. You shouldn't feel insecure playing the Wii unless you have an emotional problem or something.
