If anything you look cool. People see you having fun interacting with the game and want to try it out for themselves. You shouldn't feel insecure playing the Wii unless you have an emotional problem or something.

Exactly. My friends came over and saw me playing the Wii and instantly fell in love with it.

From what I've heard you don't actually have to stand up and wave your arms around like a moron when playing Wii games. You can achieve just as much by just using your wrist movements properly.

Yeah, I found that out after about an hour of playing the console, but it's so much more fun standing up.

Depends on the game. Zelda, you could just sit there and lounge around playing this game. But if you're playing a game like Wii Sports or something similar, sitting there playing games like Tennis or something is lame. Get up and enjoy the game!

Granted you could just lay there and knock the ball back and forth, but where's the fun in that?

Who let that Xbox fanboy in here?

j/k. I haven't yet a Wii, but from what I've heard and seen about the Wii, it's for me very hard to doubt its sense.

I'm sure I will enjoy my Wii when I get it on launch day.

Yeah that and the fact that Hudson, Lucasarts, Capcom, Konami, EA, Bandai/Namco, SEGA, Activision, Ubisoft, and Square-Enix have all committed multiple titles to it this early in the game (and, one should note... far more in most cases than they are on PS3 and Xbox 360 combined); and some even have stated outright that they're more excited for the Wii than they are the other consoles.

isn't this because it's different and more exciting?

Well; in an ideal world that'd be the reason. But it's more like:
- Gamecube SDKs will suffice for Wii development hardware in most cases (this saves a lot of money)
- Because GCN development hardware is so similar, development time is a lot shorter, and of course that saves everybody money.
- Games are put on DVDs (cheaper than HD-DVD or Bluray no matter how you slice it)
- Nintendo's Virtual Console provides the best online distribution system for game content, with minimal cost to the developer
- As the cheapest console, developers see this as a very family friendly console, an important factor in getting these things off the shelves.

But yes, certainly many developers and their resident executives are acting on a high after playing the system. Nintendo gave out a few reports of "meh" reactions to the console, only to have those reversed when they let the bigwigs play the thing.
