Mario is to slow, gravity is to low. Other then that, it's great.


Also, more star ideas...

"Koopa's Shell" on Shyguy Mountain where you have to find a Koopa Troopa and clikmb somewhere really high without letting it go or hitting an enemy with it until you find a block that you have to hit with said shell to make a star appear.

And one on Cheese Bridge where oyu have to help an enemy Goomba get to a certain spot where you can jump off of it to reach a spot with a star. There could be many obstacles, including switch blocks you would have to turn on and off so the Goomba doesn't die/turn around. How 'bout calling it "Helpless little Goomba"?

You have to get to the top of the mountain for the star.

I'm Falling for you:
ShyGuy Mountain
You have to hit a switch that causes a hole to open up in the mountain under the star stated above. When you get up top of the mountain you have to jump down the hole. On entry you are in a lava like area where the idea is to get to the bottem to get the star. But if you go too far you hit the lava and die.

Over the Falls

Mario has to ride down a waterfall while avoiding obsticles all while trying to catch up with a star stuck on a raft .

Cheese Mountain-Cheese Blocks

When the level starts, the star is right in front of you. When you approch it, it flies into a block of cheese. Then a bunch of blocks of cheese keep falling from the sky and you have to find the block of cheese that has the star in it before you get buried under the blocks. Obviously, you have a time limit.

Is this good?

PS: The engine is better now! Keep up the good work, wink.gif

PSS: Also, the blocks of cheese are moving around in circles so it'll be hard to get!

I'll probably change that to something like you have to solve some weird puzzles to get to the block of cheese. Why? This is the 3rd time that same suggestion has been rehashed by different people in this topic.
And thanks for the comment about the engine.
I still have a lot to program.
Also, anyone got any ideas about what I could do to add something like the mountain in Bob-omb Battlefield? I can't walk around a mountain in 2D!
also, I need a title screen for this...

Boss Chuckie Cheese
Level: Cheese Bridge
Giant monster made of cheese blocks. Trys to squish you with it's hands You have to melt his head with fire balls. You always have firepower but the firepower doesn't count has a powerup. You would jump on his hands, jump, and shoot a fireball at his head for damage.

Fake it. Make it scroll up and right with you going down a level if you fall.

Sounds fun. But there aren't fire flowers in this game. Maybe I can add one exclusive to that level smile.gif
Also, on Cheese Bridge, not everything is cheese - it's meant to be the general "weird" level. Where everything that you can't put somewhere else goes.

Bowser's Castle-Wart Strikes Back

When the level starts, you see Wart standing with his back turned. When you approach him, he turns around, startled. He then says that he's going to blow up the castle and steal the throne from Bowser. Only one problem: He's going to do it with Mario in it! When you engage him in combat, he sets the timer on the bomb and throws it somewhere. You won't be able to hurt Wart by jumping on his head or anything like that, and there are NO vegitables this time. You need to stun him by throwing blocks at him, then you need to jump INTO him. He falls on the ground, where you can jump on his stomach and damage him. After you have defeated Wart, you have to go and shut off the bomb by jumping on it. After it is off, it'll break and reveal the Star. Again, it's obvious that you have a time limit.

How about different sections of the level that can only be accesed by going through mini game themed paths like a mine cart, river rafting, hang gliding. that would add a good twist laugh.gif

One thing I've never managed to do is carrying stuff.
Also, a demo of this should be ready soon.
All I need to do is program a star and design part of Nipper Field!
I need an idea for the first star in the game. It should be easy. Give me a suggestion!

The memories of this level. Anyways, plays like a normal level. Would be best to be the star before Bowser.

Mario is still to slow, and the run seems useless, as he only goes, like, a quarter a pixel faster.

Good idea. I'll probably just use the Platform Movement object for him as well, with invisible triggers. It's great because you can command it ("jump", "walk right", "walk left") so it's easy to work with for cutscenes.
Normally, control for Mario for example works like this:
player holds right,
Platform Movement: player is holding right
player holds left,
Platform Movement: player is holding left
player holds shift and player is standing on ground,
PM: player jump
player holds shift and player is jumping,
PM: player is holding jump in the air
so it's easy to use these functions to control AI objects as well.
