The worst part:

Collin's parents have grounded collin for six months for arguing with sister.

Which is why I am glad I don't even bother with Religion or anything relating to it.

Why does someone always blame these things on religion?

I don't think religion even enters into this equation. Even if punishment is different in Catholic schools from in other schools (as in more strict), no proper Catholic school would condone something like that teacher did. And just because that teacher's a nun doesn't show anything about nuns in general.

By not "being anything," you are by definition an atheist. Atheism is just a lack of a believe in a god. If you're "nothing" in terms of religion, you're an atheist, even if you don't address yourself as such.

Anyway, back on topic, Catholic schools get away with too much. If a parent broke his kid's arm to teach him a lesson, that kid would be in foster care the next day, but since the government allows private schools to do pretty much whatever they want, a nun can beat the s*** out of a student so long as he has a note from his parents saying "you can beat the s*** out of me."
