The game getting a reworking huh. It's strange too cuz the other day I heard a rumor Link may not be a child in this anymore. Also, the push back doesn't surprise me in the least.

Hopefully this means they'll make it possible to use the control pad.

PH was bound to take a while to make. Nintendo don't want to release a bad Zelda game, and haven't since the CD-i. Personally I'd love to see them drop the cartoony stuff, but there's not much chance of that happening.

Nintendo wasn't even in charge of making the CD-i

But they still had the final decision on whether to allow a CD-i Zelda game.

wtf no wind waker style is AWESOME

but there is a huge possibility of it happening, alot of the fans hated the style, and since Twilight Princess got more hype then wind waker, its possible they may revert to Oot stylings again...

Last time we had a Zelda game delay, we got TP.

I have no issues with setbacks as long as we get a great game.

But they still had the final decision on whether to allow a CD-i Zelda game.

Not really, they just didn't have the foresight to think that they might attempt to create games without their creative forces. They used the licenses for Mario and Zelda as the ultimate "collateral", a way to get Phillips signed on as the producer of their CD peripheral. They of course dropped this altogether, but Phillips still happened to have its own hardware it could produce games on and thus make use of the license they had been granted.

In other words, Nintendo didn't think they'd utilize the license since the CD add-on they had imagined working with Phillips on hadn't even come to fruition. So while they definitely could of "stopped" the games from being produced by never trying to enter the CD market, they absolutely did not have the "final decision" in the same sense that Phillips did.

I don't see how they could not use the WW style, considering that Phantom Hourglass is a continuation of it's story.

To be perfectly honest, it doesn't matter to me at all. I'm really quite fond of both styles. I'm personally hoping that they end up doing a full 3D game for DS, rather than that top-down 2.5D thing they were using before. I would love to have a handheld WW or OOT sort of Zelda game!
