It could use some work. Here are a couple of suggestions for now:

-Make it so that Mario can't go off the sides of the screen, and definitely make it so that Mario dies if he goes too far down. The way it is now he falls infinitely.

-Make it so that you can actually see your score after you die. The way it is now, you'll probably miss seeing your score if you die, since the game restarts right away and your score gets reset to 0 immediately. You could just add a highscore table to solve this.

added bomb ombs which blow everthing up in the room when you touch it, except for the shroobs.

Actually, I believe the (unwritten?)rules state that they may enter, but they can not make another competition if the one they won was their own. So, if he wanted he could enter, however, he's not required, and wouldn't be able to make a second competition since he made this one.
