I dunno, would you wear it?

I was thinking about submitting some things to Threadless Tees... I have a few other ideas but I'm sorta feelin slummy right now. $2000 would be really awesome now tho. But It really depends on how you catch the audience.

One thing I've always admired about other people who make T-shirts is that they always seem to take the simplest objects and concepts and can manage to make a shirt with it, just like you did here with the fridge, Doc.

I am envious sad.gif

Well, then I think tee-shirts, I think as basic as possible. There are people who do really elaborate tee-shirt designs and they are who they are. Of course I am very envious of their work but I know that 1. I don't have the state of mind to do such elaborate works and 2. a simple thing can have an equally powerful message.

Then I just run through concepts in my head. This one originated from an old "cheating on exams" gag I had in a sketchbook. Seriously. I modified it so it would be an oven cheating on the microwave with the fridge (in my mind at least) and eventually just came up with "50's style frodge. Ta daa!"

There is art that tells it's own story, and then there's art that tells YOUR own story. Someone wears a nintendo Tee-Shirt, they like nintendo. Then again, someone wears a fridge tee-shirt, then they... Hmm...

exactly.

It's hard to be original these days, but instead of getting more and more complex to ensire utmost diversity among artists, I say retort to basics. I mean, everyone's mind is so diversely complex these days, that a basic object is just what it needs to see to get workin'.

...

Dunno what all that was about. I hope I answered your... something...

Here are a few other ideas I had -

80's style computer walks in to see other 80's style computer hooked into new-age computer, with emoticons as faces (or something like that)

a cross between a pirate wheel and one of those GT racing wheels stupid people put in their civics/racing people put in their And now here they are! The most daredevil group of daffy drivers to ever whirl their wheels in the Wacky Races. Competing for the title of worlds wackiest racer. The cars are approaching the starting line. First, is the Turbo Terrific driven by Ps

3 half-empty glasses of water. One of them is wine. Above, it says "optomist - pessemist - Jesus!" and below, it says "The glass is half full - the glass is half empty - Ta Daa!"

I actually have a slew of optomist-pessimist-wtf gags

that's the base of what I've got, tell me which ones sound good!

I like shirts like that because they don't exactly make the most sense, yet that's what's good about them. It looks good, and it looks like it's just going "Fridge! =D"

For most of my shirts, I'm usually under the delusion that I need it to have the most elaborate, colorful design possible and have a really snappy catchprase on it.

For the next one I put in the shop, I'm gonna shoot for a more simplistic idea.

As for the ideas you listed, shoot for that optimist/pessimist one. You could make a whole line of tees based on that concept.

I'd wear it. It screams "I'm cool". Literaly.

The pallettes on the side are annoying though, unless they aren't really part of the shirt.

Here's another one, I like and don't like it at the same time, probably because I did a quick search on google and sound something SIMILAR to it. I submit it anyways, couldn't hurt. It's different enough to suffice.

Especially because the question mark rests on TOP of the X... that's the major difference. This gives the image a double meaning - not only is it saying "No Questions Asked" but it also asks the question "why not?" which is ironic to the point of severe intensity.

... I'd wear it.
