Yes i do indeed agree with this.

it's just pointless "trying to get popular" topics really.
have them in the PPP, and if it actuly turns in to something, THEN post in here.

as for the (don't worry bout sprites thing)
i'v been working Half a Year and i'm still not done.
so people who think they can make a Great SSB like game is far out there.(talking newb's not pro's)

They can post these "sign-up" topics in the PPP, then when they actually have something to show for it, they can post it here.

Because if you want to make a MFGG game and don´t even know who to make in it and you can´t decide,you need a few people who want to be in it.If you decide it yourself,a few people sure don´t want it.And you sure don´t want to ask more than 2000 people,right?So you should be able to ask who wants to be in it.

The thing is, though, you don't need to ask them. Just throw 'em in. They won't mind.

As a matter of fact, they might actually be flattered that you would include them in a project.

The whole damn whoobadoo started when Hatman made the MFGG GP thing, where he allowed requests.
Stupid people thought that if they made a similar thing, they'd be as popular as him, too.
So they started making countless topics taking requests, and slowly abandoning the whole game. Rest is obvious.

Note; I'm not blaming Hatman.

I've never had anything to do with "MFGG games" so far, but I think Klobber's idea is great.

You need an engine (or level, depending on what you as a developer needs to develop first) before even contemplating putting people in your non-existant engine.

Impossible? Maybe so if you were actually considering putting effort into the sprites. But who's to say you can't use single frame MS-Paint sprites, huh? And don't complain about the graphics "not looking good" - just look at Super Mario Storm, not many people cared that the graphics were low quality (in fact they were part of the game's charm!).

In MFGG based games, like Kapworld said, you need characters. If you want to be in it, then you could make a demo like that, but if not, then you need members. If you put random members in, they might not want to be in the game, and then they get mad at you and you might get banned. So I guess the topic could go in PPP, but then people might think it's a joke or something.
If you have enough info other then the require ments to be in the game, then it should not be locked.
IMO.

1: It's still fangame discussion so it belongs here.
2: A small topic with an engine or screenshots are better than a long topic that only has a list of people that requested to be in the game.
3: MFGG games need people, but you don't need to waste the fangame forum with a request topic. It should be in the PPP or maybe even the help forum.

As for your conclusion, a topic with a lot of "info" (by info I mean a long, useless list of people that requested) should just get locked on the spot.

Ok for the last part of your post.
by 'INFO' I mean INFORMATION ABOUT THE GAME(Like screens and story and stuff)
Anything with a uselessly long requirement post should get locked....unless the requirements are huge.

The point is that people should freaking start their damn work before they start making promises.

i could photoshop a kickass mockup image of my SUPER SMASH BROTHERS MFGG DELUXE QUEST ADVENTURE FIGHT EXTREME but that doesn't prove that i actually made it
