On every Metal Slug related forum I go to I'm seeing nothing but countless whining and moaning about Metal Slug Anthology. "No D-pad, whine!" "You have to tilt the Wii-controler to throw grenades, moan!" and the infamous "No hitflash, boo!". I'm sick of it, the game seems to control just fine and taking out hitflash only increases the difficulty of the game, and that's what Metal Slug is all about, great gameplay and great difficulty! While I haven't played it, the lack of hit-flash and no D-pad usage on the GCN controler won't stop this game from being good nostalgic fun.

GCN has a d-pad that's bad on a dual shock level and placed awkwardly for platformers anyway, who cares?

No, the D-pad plain out doesn't work with MSA.

Whats wrong with the control stick for it?

Anyways, I heard you can just tilt it like a nes control and play fine that way!

Funny how they ***** about having to use the control stick to move if they use the Cube controller, and yet they don't seem to mind playing the actual arcade versions where their cabinets use JOYSTICKS.

And I don't mind if the hit flash got taken out of the games. If anything, it was probably done just to save some memory on the disc.

Hitflash, what? You mean like when you shoot something it flashes? Also, are you able to just use the class controller?

It's apparently only for Metal Slug 6, and it's because the emulation is dropping those frames.

So it wasn't purposefully done.

Although I personally would find that a little bit lame since you'd be confused in situations if you were doing damage to something or not. It also gives the game itself a feel when you see those flashes that makes you all warm inside.

It's the reason why I'm waiting on the Playstation 2 version. If their emulation still sucks, then I'll just get the Wii title. But if they bothered to fix it, then I'll go PS2.

Who plays Metal Slug after the 3rd one anyways?

I've honestly only played Metal Slug X at the laundromat.

I was this close to buying Metal Slug X at EBgames when they had it for like 30 bucks. But Brother told me it was a waste of money, so I didn't get it sad.gif
