QUOTE (GeneralGuy @ Dec 21 2006, 11:24 AM)
GM is the hardest program to use, but can create the best games if used right. For average and masters of game making. Also, it's free. There's a registered version, but you must pay for it. That gives you even more features. 9/10

MMF is the average, game creation skill program. For average and masters of game making. This can create a lot of great games without any experience at all. But it can't defeat the best of GM. You must also pay for it. 8/10

TGF is the easiest program to use. A great choice for begginers. It is easier to use than MFF and GM, but doesn't have as much features. There are more good games than bad games made with this. But the best games you can make here are nothing compared to MFF and GM. You must also pay for it. 6/10

The platform studio is just like TGF, but TGF has more features and can create better games. Most of the features are the same and it's also really easy to use. You must also pay for it. 5/10

pretty much the same here i hate it when pepol go "gamemaker sucks" just cuz thay dont understand coding.

Why no MMF2 option?

Why there has to be? Game Maker 6 and Game Maker 5 weren't separate options either.

I actually did try Game Maker, seeing as I didn't want to be secluded to just Clickteam products.

However, when I started doing the coding and using it's interface, it reminded me of Visual Basic, which suddenly gave me the urge to convulse.

I don't know what the differences are between GM 5 and 6 so I can't really say anything, but from what I understand MMF2 is incredibly different than MMF.

MMF2 is as different to MMF 1/1.5 as (TGF/CNC/MMFEX / 2) is to MMF. It has new layouts for things like the animation editor that make a huge difference for me, I've gotten used to the nice way of viewing all the frames and apps open on that side thing, the properties window makes changing things easier, when you get used to it, MMF2 makes a world of difference, but there's still something about it that feels different from the TGF/CNC/MMFEX to MMF move.

Woah Woah Woah!

I reckon the two are equal, if you play a well programmed GM game and a Well programmed MMF Game, they feel the same in the experience they give.

You're being kind of biased by saying "But it can't defeat the best of GM"

Because they will cancel eachother out.

not that simple, son

By the way, I've often wondered (just out of curiosity, as I'll probably always keep using Game Maker) how much programs like TGF, MMF, and MMF2 cost in US $.

It doesn't matter what you use if you suck hard balls at it.

It'll suck so bad nobody would like it anyway.

Game Maker 6.1... it's just what I got because it's free...

Falcon Punch is the result of the Sun heating fists. It drives the Blue Falcon. Heating causes destruction of water into the pain, where it then hurts, creating rain. Rain creates flowing water in tears, which can then be converted into other forms through more pain.
