Once I saw Beatmedoh's LoZ Mario sprites, I wanted to make a game using them, and so I did!
Using a GM5.1 LoZ engine I found, I made a new game, called The Legend of Super Mario Bros!
So, here's some info.
Story:Mario was in the mushroom kingdom on day, when suddenly toad came running up! Toad told Mario that he had to go to Hyrule to rescue the Princess who was captured by someone! Mario sets off on his journey....
Right now, Demo 0.1 has an unfinished dungeon and a complete over world.
Use the arrow keys to move!
Use Space for menu!
S and A are the item keys!
Right now you can't die, because it's just a test.
Ok here are a few screens.

No it's actually a hammer.
ALSO!!!
I MIGHT(MIGHT!!!!) include 5 MFGGers to be enemies, 3 to have Dungeons named after them, and 1 to be an NPC.
If you want to ba an enemy then post a sprites in LoZ style.
If you want to be a dungeon then post a song and a tile set.
I WILL PICK THE NPC AT RANDOM!
HAVE FUN!!!

Save it as an EXE so that those that use GM6 or those without any from of GM can use it.

Wow this is really good!

May I suggest...

-Making it so Mario can actually slash his sword
-Finish the Overworld, I still see some octoroks.
-Make a new overworld
-Make it so that you cannot walk on water in some places.

Also, can you give me a link to that LOZ engine?

I'm making it so you need the raft to go over ater, but right now I;m having trouble with that.

Look in ZFGN for the engine.(I think)

The sound effects are too loud but other than that pretty darn good.

Hate to burst your bubble but...


Have you ever played "The Legend of Mario: THE SEARCH FOR LINK" ? It's a hacked NES rom of the legend of zelda with mario graphics, and they did a good job changing the graphics, octorocks are sniffets, everything looks marioish etc...

That game sounds neato.
But mine was made from scratch.
I'm gonna try and add somethings today so expect an update soon.

Yeah...the sound.... I'll fix that.
But I'm using gm5.1, so I don't know how to adjust the volume....
And the helicopter things were too hard to fix....so I'm trying to remove them. I guess I missed one. Sorry! ohmy.gif
