I'm talking to my brother right now about building muscle, and he should know since he actually has went from being a fatso to well muscled. It depends on the kind of pain we're talking about.

A "burning" sensation (where the term "feel the burn" comes from) when you are doing an exercise to build up your muscles is fine, but obviously not all types of pain are good. Some can indicate that you have done yourself damage, but there is pain that shows you are pushing yourself to your limit... If you overdo it, you can injure yourself. If you don't do it enough, you won't see any results.

Bang on. That's my point, an ache after exercise is only a sign that you've done plenty, and a burn is a sign that it's working. If you're not going to exercise until it hurts at least a little, you might as well not exercise at all.

I've never seen somebody so determined to prove something they're so wrong about.

You know, I don't even know what I'm trying to prove wrong, since you aren't making any sense or being consistent with what you're talking about.
