Okay, making progress on my first fangame (focusing on gameplay itself, finally) -- now I'm trying to clear something up in terms of the Games Factory "objects".

The snag that I ran into are that only some certain objects are able to "follow the playfield". So far, I've noticed that I'm able to use the option for counter objects, lives, and the score.

The only question is this, what about "game text" that's written in "The Games Factory". Does this also have a "follow the playfield" option, and am I able to use it as a "lablel" of part of my status area for fangames I create?

All right, just getting the matter straight on this. Thanks.

Please stop using "" Where it's not nessecary (SP?)

Also, you can, yes, but- you will loose the strings. (New object- Active Object)

Or, similarly, you can have an event
Always- Text 1- Position X,Y
And then change the Strings as you feel nessecary, if you wish, i can whip up a quick demo, if you need it.

You should uncheck "Display as Background", though. I'm not sure if TGF works exactly the same, but I use MMF2 (which works similarly) and counters working in this way do not show properly if Display as Background is checked. So if you can't see the text at certain times, try this.

So are active objects able to follow the playfield as well (like specified sprites that I make to accompany for the status screen). Also, I attempted to try and place score/counter objects over an active object the bars/numbers are covered by that said active object. (Yes, I even tried the bring to front/send to back stuff on the counter objects, but to no avail)

Obviously, I thought of another good alternative in terms of my fangame layout; but I now need to get this one straight once and for all.

Yes. Right click on the object, go to Object Preferences. Select the Extra tab, and uncheck Follow the playfield (yeah, you really do want to do that, otherwise it will stay in the same place - unchecking that option turns it off so it will stay in the same place on the screen as you scroll).
One thing though - One mistake that I made when I first started out, was: If your level is wider/higher than the window size, you must place your HUD elements in the top left area of the level.

Also, I don't see why are you are saying that score objects cannot be placed over active objects. I dug up a copy of Multimedia Fusion Express (which I believe is TGF with some bugfixes and a new name) and I have done this successfully.

This is one way to create multi-paralax.
