In my point of view, a sprite comp is a competition to show off your skills in making a small art of someone or something, with a quality that makes it looks almost like the real thing.
If you made a pixel art, it will be large enough to looks exactly like the thing you want to draw as sprite or PA, but easier and more comfortable, yet it still needs experience.
On the computer, almost everything you see is made of pixels, but depends on your definition of what you see on the computer screen or the monitor.
All I'm saying is, a sprite can't be a pixel art in a definition of pixel art, but a pixel art can be both a PA and a sprite.
Or the way they say it in Math, not every sprite is pixel art, but every pexil art is sprite.
After all that's the way I see sprites and pixel art.
You can say I'm wrong, but proove it and tell me the right thing.
