When I draw, I do it for the comments. I know there's a good chance I won't win the drawing comp, but I do it fir the few people who might say "that's great". As long as I'm a "that's great", there's always hope of being "that's greater" to the point of winning. I did so much freaking work on my thwomps (it took forever to convert the animations, and THEN to make a better one) And I know that most likely I won't get first, or second. But it gave me a chance, a reason, a motive to broaden my horizons as an artist, as a spritist. It helped me to improve on my technique by observing the skills one uses who does win. And it may lead to me winning the next one. But it doesn't really matter. Getting there is the fun part. Once you're there, it isn't all that great. So we go further. That is life, and that is skill building. I don't want to tell you how hard I worked on my first mario sprite, and it definately couldn't win any competitions. Dr. Wario -------------------- Boof

Well if there is one thing I noticed by looking at older compos is that Toni, Xander and Dr.Wario are almost always in the top 5. They rule the compos here
