I recently found I can rip sounds from roms by using the Audacity program and Importing Raw Data, but I need information about the sound processor for the game system I am going to rip from. I need to know the sound format (type of recorded sound and whether it is 16 or 8 bit), the endianness, how many channels there are, and the sample rate. I need to know this for Nintendo 64 and SNES.

SNES uses BRR Compression and you cannot view sound samples from it with Audacity.
If you however want to get SNES samples no matter what, get SNESSOR from This Page.
