What type of gamer are you?

Multi, except for PS3.
It's just that most games on the regular Xbox did not appeal to me so I only have 3 of them. I have about 25-30 PS2 games, and 10-15 Gamecube games. But I play whatever is fun.

The thing is, that really doesn't have much to do with it. I guess I was too brief in my above explanation. I don't like Microsoft or Sony systems because I'm so attached to Nintendo, what with all the fond memories and pleasant experiences I've had from playing Nintendo games, that I don't like the idea of buying games from companies that compete with them and try to outdo them in the video game market. I'm not saying competition is an evil, but I want to give Nintendo my unequivocal support, to do what little I can in keeping them in business, and not do anything similar for its competitors.

I'm not saying anything against people (including Nintendo fans) who think differently. But this is my viewpoint, and I honestly cannot see anything irrational about it.


But if you were referring to the other thing I said, about just not finding Microsoft and Sony systems and games for them to be interesting, well, really, that doesn't indicate reluctance to try new things, because I've often tried new and different games for Nintendo systems (I remember how I got into Sonic games on GCN after a long while of not bothering with them). For whatever reason, the various games on other systems never really held much of any attraction to me, with perhaps a few exceptions, and this probably has something considerable to do with the fact that even if I didn't dislike Microsoft and Sony systems, I would still not want to buy whole other systems just because of some games that held little personal interest for me. Also, it seems like a relatively high percentage of games on the other systems (compared to Nintendo, anyway) are rated T or M for objectionable content, and I can't stand that sort of thing. I have always had an aversion to immoral content in games - the worse the content, the stronger the aversion. And I don't consider willingness to try new things to be a good thing if said new things concern objectionable content.

Once again, I'm not demanding that anyone agree with me about the objectionable content thing; I'm only stating my own thoughts again.

If I had the money I would be a Multi Platform gamer, but all I can afford to buy games for is really the DS, PC and Wii. I have played plenty of PS2 games though and enjoyed them all, as well as a handful of Xbox games, so it's fair to say i'd enjoy PS3 and 360 games too.

I also agree with this. Grant, you've basically taken my viewpoint and put it into better and more detailed wording.
I don't like games with objectionable content, either.

i still don't get the mentality of people who think they owe something to the companies that made stuff they had in their childhoods, it's not like they're charity organizations that you're thanking for giving you a home

Multiplatform pls

There's only so much fun you can get out of pummeling the hell out of AI. It doesn't last all that long for me.

I have no friends to play with 8) Not enough focus on headshots and guns for my friends.

It's not exactly that I think I owe something to them. It's voluntary - an emotional attachment sort of thing.

I hope this doesn't turn into a long debate or something. I'm not saying I have any problem with multiplatform people, so I hope others will do me the courtesy of not continually questioning my reasoning either. (I don't mean to sound annoyed or anything.)

I'm a multi-gamer. More heavily on the Nintendo side of life, though.

I was about to say I was mainly a Nintendo person when I was younger, but I DID own a Game Gear and Sega Genesis.

Then I was all anti PSX and pro N64. I personally thought that was rather foolish.

Finally, I bought a Gamecube and my brother bought a PS2. I caught up on a lot of good RPGs from PSX generation and PS2 generation. <3

I've actually, surprisingly enough only owned Nintendo consoles other than the Gamegear- part of because of money, and part of because it takes miracles to be able to get a video game let alone a CONSOLE in this house XD
I've missed out on the awesome PS1-PS2 games that everyone except me has played (DDD:) and so on with older Sega consoles and the Xbox etc
I have to admit though I haven't seen anything on Xbox or its successor that has gotten my attention really, or at least yet

Too bad, I was expecting this topic to be more of a "how do you play your games" sort of thing XD

I'm multiplatformer, though I don't actually buy Xboxes or Playstations anymore

I just play at my friends' house, since I'm not paying +$500 to play a few games~

One company in terms of console. PC gaming, I'll try anything. Sorry Sony, I bought a PS2 and only found one game worth playing. I won't be buying a PS3.
