WIP. More coming soon!
Ripped directly from ROM.

Update 1: Underground, underground mushroom platforms, ice, mushroom platforms.
Update 2: Sky land, bonus room, final Bowser arena.
Update 3: World 8 overworld levels, grassland, desert, unused bonus room tileset, Mummy-Pokey battle
Update 4: Snow, tower, Bowser Jr. battle arena
Update 5: Lakithunder battle area, Bowser's castle (there may be more castle stuff, there's another file with a similar name)
Update 6: Items, a different style of ice blocks, and an unfinished sewer!
Yes, that's what I get from the ROM. I have to seperate all the tiles and find which go where, flip them if needed, etc.
Update 7: Sewers, unused, forest, beach, and more world 8. There's yet another W8 tileset, but I really don't feel like doing it. Also, the world 6 (mountains set) but it's not seperated.
Update 8: Almost everything is done. 2 sets left.

Get it here

I will not be ripping backgrounds any time soon.
They're stored as little tilesheets that are then laid out by the game to form BGs. Similar to Dr. SVH's SMAS rips, but worse.

I will have more soon, hopefully.
I'm collecting offsets of the files from NDSHeader to then save from Unlz-gba.
It's hard, because here's all I have to do:
1. Find the palette and graphic files in NDSHeader, and write down the offsets of them in the NSMB ROM
2. Look for the offset in Unlz-gba
3. Save the file
4. Open the graphic file in Tile Molester
5. Open the palette
6. Take screenshot
7. Put in Paint, remove background
8. Repeat steps 5 to 7 until I got all the palettes in the tileset
9. Go back to step 2 for the next tileset

edit: AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!
I finished all the palette offsets, then I realised I did them for the background palettes, not the tileset palettes!
The only difference in their names is "back" instead of "tikei". Now I'll have to redo them all.

Pucifur got them from the NSMB site.
These are actually from the ROM, just as you'll see them in-game. So they're even better, as I have every tile, not just those used in the levels in the site!

I really love this style of tiles, I'd use them if I could make my own edits which match ... just too hard though =\

More stuff has been added! As usual, see first post.
I've added even more than I previously said. This update contains the world 8 "dark land" overworld levels, the full grassland, desert, the Mummy-Pokey battle, and a really ugly unused tileset.

Coming up in next update:
Tower
Snow levels
Bowser Jr's battle arena

Fantastic stuff, Jouw!
Any plans on getting any sprites, or are you sticking to backgrounds?

Good job.
You should try using these tiles and making proper maps from NSMB levels.

I may rip some of the sprites, later. I have found Koopas (in a horrible mess of tiles) and Goombas (nicely laid out). Also, I believe Boos are sprites, so I may see if I can find them.
I don't think I will rip the actual backgrounds behind the levels, though, as they're all in 8x8 tiles. Think Dr. SVH's SMAS rips, but worse.
Once an emulator runs NSMB properly I will be able to rip backgrounds, as Desmume's Map Viewer displays them perfectly.

By the way, I'm uploading an update now!

This is beautiful, and pretty much beats all those other NSMB tilesets put together. The fact that you're trying to cover everything as well makes it that extra bit awesome. This will most certianly help if I attempt at making another huge custom tileset.

Any plans to try and rip the backgrounds as well?
