I took a break from tilesets.
Here is Boo!

More coming soon.
I'm ripping Goomba and ParaGoomba right now. Even with unused poses!
I'll also get Koopa, and maybe items.

edit: I had to go in the middle of posting that, so I didn't see the new posts.
Black Squirrel, I'm not planning on BGs.
Unless Desmume gets support for NSMB soon or I figure out the BG layout format (it could happen) I'm not ripping them. They're all stored in little tilesheets of 8x8 tiles. Think Dr. SVH's SMAS stuff, but worse.
Desmume can display them using the Maps feature, but I can only get one BG that way (the one from the opening cutscene - it's stored in memory on the title screen)

You talk about looking for offsets and using a program called DSHeader or such... you ever try other programs, that would extract the game's files into separate parts, if that doesn't do so? It may be easier to use a program, like "DSlazy", which automates the process of converting a NDS file into separate pieces, letting you simply find and open the files with unLZGBA or Tile Molester, rather then hunting through the huge rom. I'm not sure if it would work properly with NSMB and what you know though, I just know it makes ripping Kirby Squeak Squad sprites a piece of cake, while other games I've tried didn't store them in files at all, thus making it useless.

UnlzGBA refuses to find anything in the individual files.
NDSHeader can extract them, but it also tells me where each file is located in the ROM. I used that to match up each palette with it's tileset.
What I use, although a bit complicated, it's needed for the palettes.
I created a custom entry in Tile Molester's savestate loading for the palettes.
I look for them by offset in UnlzGBA, dump them as RAW files (for both palettes and graphics) and then load them in Tile Molester.
By the way, there are unused powerups in the items file. Interesting.
Mainly a lightning bolt and a Japanese character. Not sure if they may be something else though, as the vine and piranha heads on the vines that sprout from blocks are also in there..

Tilesets should be in 8x8 ungridded format unless they're very clear.
In this case, they are, with the exception on the Pipe tiles. Great job, nevertheless.
You should try other games aswell.

This isn't a tileset. The reason is that there are so many objects of different sizes, it wouldn't make much sense.
If you mean the original tilesets from the game, yes, they are 8x8 ungridded. A lot of the time I spend ripping these is seperating the tiles and ordering them to be useful in a game. I've had a lot of problems with the sewer tiles for this (you'll see in the next update).
Also, coming up:
Possibly unused desert-like tileset (I don't remember seeing it in the game)
Forest (world 4) ground
and more.

Give me another title I can use.
They're not sprites, they're not backgrounds. So what should I use?
And why are we arguing over whether it's a tileset or not?

Since when are we arguing?
I politely noted that tilesets should be in static form, but for some reason you turned it into an argument.
In my opinion, these are tilesets. They're separated with one pixel grid and most are in 16x16 tile form, I don't see the un-tileset-ness.

Awesome job!
This obsoletes many sheets. Magnificent job. nod.gif
EDIT: And those golden bricks aren't unused. Check level 7-A for them.

Okay.

Also, every sheet is now ripped. I just have to split them apart into usable tiles and not just a sheet mess.

Thanks.
And see first post for that. I've added it there because this is the 3rd time people have enquired about it.

Also, here's a list of those tilesets remaining:
World 6 mountains
Water
Volcano land
What I think is from that place in world 8 where you climb up and there is rising lava, I Think it's 8-5 or 8-6
Another world 8 tileset (in very dark black)

So I'll be done soon.
Also, I'm planning to rip stuff like fireballs, enemies and HUD objects later.

I assume you already know but mapscreen sprites aren't LZ77'ed.
