Since I've ran out of idea's for new projects, I decided to make a little NSMB Mario Engine, and I'm here to show my (small) progress.
I'm using Rapid The Hedge Hog's "New Super Mario World Beta 2" sprites and here I give a lot of credit to him.
Controls:
Up: Jump
Down: Slide, Duck
Left/Right: Walk/Run
Current inside the demo:
Normal Mario
Double/Triple Jump
Wall Jump
Slide
Hills
Note: in this engine, it's the first time I'm pressing everything in the create, step and draw event of mario. I haven't used any other event!! (Step event 618+ lines of code)
I'm not posting any screenshots, since there's not much to see.
Also, I'm not quite sure if I'm going to finish FAME, so I ask you, would it be worth it to continue on this?
If I'm going to continue, I'll likely add:
Moving platforms (I just need to create moving blocks now)
Heli-Jump
Mega-Mario
Mini-Mario
Koopa-Mario
Raccoon-Mario (if Rapid the Hedgehog makes the sprite)
Tanooki-Mario (if Rapid the Hedgehog makes the sprite)
Lots of enemies
