According to IGN interview with the Killer 7 director of the upcoming game "No More Heroes" for the Wii:

QUOTE
IGN Wii: Fair enough. Finally, why do you think fans should be excited for No More Heroes?

Suda: We are tuning up No More Heroes to be simple and comfortable, but exciting and refreshing as a game.  The game has a unique sense of humor and I hope fans will be excited about and look forward to it. ?

?I'll also try my best to make No More Heroes as violent, or even more violent than Manhunt 2!

Not a big tidbit of info, lots more in the interview here, but I think it's interesting to note that 2 games coming out for the Wii, one a remake and one a new IP are going to be extremely violent. Nintendo consoles aren't known for their violent games, but I AM hoping this might encourage developers to make games that aren't always branded as "kiddy" or "nintendo-ified"

And the Wiimote does allow for even more violence if you know what I'm talking about...

No it doesn't, but a few games like this may perhaps at LEAST dispel the whole "Nintendo = Kiddy" mindset that most developers seem to have. Take a look at SSX Blur, that game has had a makeover making it brighter, more colourful and the characters are even exaggerated, simply because it's a Nintendo console.

Sometimes it does.

Manhunt 2 and NMH are the two Wii games I'm most looking forward too :D

Quoted for truth.

Major violence in games amounts to a con for me. I can't imagine I would have fun playing either of these violent games for Wii.

But we can still do without it.

Sims for Wii
Not saying its horrible, I haven't even played it.
But it goes with Kritter's statement.

I dunno, violence made "The Punisher" more fun.

And if you get all the "censorship removal" patches the fun seems to be amplified!

Agreed. Increased violence can be fun, but it's all in context.

Cool, I was hoping for a more robust and mature game for the Wii.

i still think it's not suitable for a nintendo console

they need to replace all the characters with the player's Miis, and replace the swords with Frozen Bananas of Cartoon Humor, and turn the saturation for the backgrounds to 100%

Well that's exactly my point. The Wii is supposed to be for everyone, so it should make sense that it has games marketed for people above the age of 10 or something, but since it's a Nintendo console, people think violent games don't belong there and I think that's a load of rubbish.

you know whats funny

The Wii version of The Two Thrones (Called Rival Swords) will actually have less violence than the original (which I'd assume will give it a T rating).

ironically the gamecube version wasnt censored

I think the Europe version of TTT was censored. Maybe only the GC one. It didn't have decapitations sad.gif

I think it was all the Euro versions. Perhaps you could patch the PC version to fix it.

Our Warrior Within was full of the juicy ultraviolence. Decapitations and bisections and everything.
