Buh?!
Super Mario Strikers, Yoshi's Safari, Mario Tennis, Dr. Mario, Mario Kart, and Mario Party kick ass.
Mario Teaches Typing, Super Mario Bros. & Friends: When I Grow Up, Mario's Early Years, Mario's Time Machine, and Hotel Mario have brought us years of hilarity.
I really hope you don't hate Game and Watch Gallery's updated Mario themed games, because that's just zany.
Super Mario RPG was classic for a lot of people, and Paper Mario is a solid game as well. Then there's the excellent Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga games. I'd be sad if none of these existed.
Mario Golf? I guess I could leave that one behind. The GBC/GBA RPGs were fulfilling for some people but I've never bothered with either.
Superstar Baseball? I thought that was pretty funny in multiplayer, but I could see someone without other players hating the game vehemently.
Dance Dance Revolution: Mario Mix is the best DDR game I can remember playing in a long while. Not only are the backgrounds fully three-dimensional and intriguing (although some are fairly static), but you got some interesting remixes of Mario music along with some freaky mini-games to play on a DDR pad.
NBA Street V3? That game can burn in hell. It's horrible, NBA Street V2 is much better.
The DK'94 "series" is platforming, but I bring it up since it eventually spawned Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2: March of the Minis. A portable Lemmings game with level editor features that can be used online is pretty impressive, and it's one of my favorite DS titles hands down.
I'm sure I've missed some titles or drawn connections to games that aren't necessarily too relevant to Mario, but your description was pretty vague. What you may not of realize is that you were opposing some quality, or at least really entertaining, titles.
