Gday all.

Is anyone here able to give me a run down of Game Maker in regards to Mac compatibility?

Do games made in Game Maker always have to be .exe executables for PC? And if so, what of Game Maker for Mac? Is it similarly "locked" to Mac functionality in its output?

Thanks all, any help is appreciated. ph34r.gif

No.

That pretty much brings it to the point.
Game Maker is Windows only.
If you can't run .exe's, no GM for you =(

When MMF 2.0 was in development, I remember hearing that it might have .app/.osx export.
However, MMF 2 is out, and there's no such thing.
I'm a Mac user also, but this doesn't really bother me.

You can run EXEs on Mac though, with a special program you can download here.

This may eventually happen - I believe Clickteam have released, or are releasing, a PocketPC exporter or something similar.

Clickteam's devs were asked about a PocketPC port of their runtimes. They responded that since MMF2 uses pure C code, and not a C with ASM mix, it's possible to port both the runtime and the development platform itself to virtually anything. However, nobody on Clickteam's staff knows how the inner working of other OSes and platforms function (like PowerPocketPC or MacOS).

EDIT: PowerPC as well, but that wasn't what I meant to say =P

OK thanks all. And the "Help" section thing is noted.

But that's just weird. I have gamemaker for my PC, I haven't used it yet -- still reading some basic documentation to get my long term plan in action. biggrin.gif

I'd love it for my Mac (for notebook purposes mainly) too which is why my attention was piqued when I read references to Gamer Maker for Mac here and there.

I presume it was talking in general terms tho laugh3.gif .

OK thanks all.
