But if you're gonna rant about it and it won't go away, what's the use? You just made a perfectly fine 5 minutes into a complete timewaste.

You cant change a person's point of view, if they think they are right then they think their opinion is right.
You think is wrong to post about their life? we think its wrong that you judge what they do just cuz you think its wrong.
Silver_wolf, read what you just wrote.
"This topic in my view is supposed to be the annoyance some of us get having topics like that clog other, more important things." huh? thats important to them.

From the title, it seems you don't want topics that people are just bringing up dumb little things seeking attention. What the topic is actually talking about though is topics pertaining to people's lives and things that may be greatly effecting them. Now if it was just attention seekers posting lame little topics about nothing, then yes, that'd be lame, but all topics pertaining to real life not being posted? That's crazy talk, son. I am also wondering why people call them all "emo" topics. I can't recall a single topic I consider being "emo", but I have seen a lot that just talk about that person's life. Some people may care, others may be interested, or there are a few who just get angry at all topics that are about others since they only care about themselves and the news. I think people should be allowed to post topics about anything serious going on in their lives, and I think people should stop being ****s about it.

This may be an example of "put up with it or ignore it" but it seems like I agree with that in this case.

You can CHOOSE to view topics, or CHOOSE to not view them.
It's not like avatars and sigs which you have to view no matter what (**** the option to turn them off)

I have no problem with them. People need to vent sometimes and this place is a fine place to do it. This is an online community afterall. Taking away something like that would be borderline dictator like.

The only ones that really bother me are when people complain about really trivial things, like that one post the guy made about how he was mad at his mom because she wouldn't buy him a certain brand of shoes or something

There's livejournal for all your life.

Not some stupid Mario forum.

Edit: Also real world news? Who the **** gives a flying **** about that on a Mario forum?

This isn't just a Mario board don't you know.

As most of you should know, I too have posted such topics in the past, if you saw me back in 2002, then you'd know I was a lot worse back then, I was essentially telling MFGG how my life was unfolding back then.

The most recent topic I posted was actually when I was frustrated beyond belief and I needed to let off some steam,a pretty legitimate reason to post such post. forums like these are meant for fun, yes I agree with that but there are people out there who have some serious ****ed up problems in their lives and the internet is their only means of escape and where they feel safe enough to actually talk about it.

Cutman, with all respect, I know its easy for you to say that but try putting yourself into other people's shoes like delmore's or even me, then you'd see how we'd fell that sometimes, the internet is our only safe heaven and we use with all we can.

And finally, I'll mirror what other people say and tell you, if you don't like emo topics, there is no need to view them!

This should be the attitude of everyone on the forum if they're bothered by them.

"You keep posting them. I'll just keep ignoring them."

Simple as that. We have that mentality, bam, the poster has no attention and there's no more valid point to the topic. Moving on in forum life.

if there's anything that should be put away it's the dumb HEY GUYS I'VE BEEN HERE A MONTH AND I HAVE TO GO

really now, if someone's going through a personal crisis, what's the problem with seeking consolation on the matter

I hope you're referring to the topics that are titled "I'M LEAVING!", and then the topic says they're just leaving for a week on vacation.

those aren't as bad since they're just a gag anyway, but the fact that total nobodies feel the need to announce they're leaving gives my old argument for anonymous posting even more weight

Oh and btw I mean both the attention seeking topics AND the "real" ones. Even though the real ones are actually asking for attention in their own way but w/e. There's a help forum for discussing these things and like I said earlier, livejournal, deviantart and stuff. What's even more silly is that many MFGGers own a DA account and still post "journals" here.

Oh and if you're announcing a leave, it's totally different to this so keep that out of it.

eh, Cutman is right.

You guys gave me alot of **** about me posting about my dog dieing, saying to go to livejournal and what not. What I don't understand is that I see other topics talking about their life situation and no one doesnt tell them to go to livejournal about it.

well anyways, it's ok if they rant about a day, but to have a 20 page topic about their life story and just coplaining on and on...Well that needs to go to livejournal. Heck, have your MFGG friends get one too and you all can talk about your life problems together.
