Due to the extensive amount of NSMB sprites sumbitted to the site, I was inspired to pick up work on this project again.

I started working on this just tonight, meaning, a few hours ago. In that time, I managed to program koopas, add footstep sound effects (of which I am particularly proud), fix some annoying bugs, and change tiling/sprite errors.

Nothing too new but the koopas in those.

I think I remember this.

I found this place http://www.putfile.com/mariobegins/images that dude got some NSMB sprites, some are saved in a crappy format but the other ones may be of use, like mario.

Ah to tell you. It did have some the tricks when he released his demo, the wall skipping looked cool because purple smoke with white stars shot out. It looked so cool. It was good from what I remember, I went looking for it awhile back but I didn't find it, I probably passed it. But still the game is quite good. And the screens looks like it's better IMO. Hope we get a demo soon Pucifur.

Also I'd go into Pucifur's post and look for it, but that error shows up all the time.

I still have the original demo and play it sometimes. I always get caught by the Banzai Bill (which, btw, is the best Banzai Bill sprite I've seen, other than your entry for the sprite comp).

I have not played NSMB myself, but wall jumping is already in there. Ground pounding is also a possibility, but I don't want to make the levels too easy. Swimming? I plan to program that as well.

What are the power-ups? BTW, Mario shouldn't be able to break bricks in his small form. Also, when you get 100 coins the coin count should go back to 0 and you get an extra life.

You have to understand I am nowhere near complete. Maybe you didn't notice, but lives aren't programmed yet. Small Mario breaks bricks because this is in debug stages, and the powerups are as follows:
- Normal (Small)
- Super Mario
- Fire Mario
- 1-Up Shrooms
Maybe invincibility, or star power.

Sounds good. Anyway, you might want to add collision detection between enemies, so they walk away from each other after bumping together.
