Very good movie, I'm quite satisfied and I'm not even a Turtles fan (Well, I guess I am now, I loved the movie). It was a bit short though, but still very good. I can't wait for the sequel (It's gonna happen).

Just saw it too. I agree with Klobbs and Mugen, the fantasy vortex immortal stuff just didn't do it for me, but as everyone has said, the Raph vs Leo dynamic was pulled off extremely well in this movie (which is one thing I loved the first live-action film. I couldn't help thinking that the script could've used more polish though. There were some absolutely hilarious lines and then there were others that just fell flat. April and Casey in particular were a lot more interesting in the previous films. Still, it was an enjoyable film and I'm looking forward to the (totally unsubtly) implied sequel. Visuals worked beautifully in the fight sequences and I liked the designs for Splinter and the turtles. If they do make a sequel, I'm going to miss Mako's Splinter.

Speaking of voices, anyone else feel like Raph sounded a lot like Rob Paulsen's 80s cartoon version at some points?

back from it too. the good parts parts for me were the leo vs ralph fight and maybe just the capture of the first momster thing

i wouldve love to seen some of those monster being captured in more time/detail instead of just blah quick scene capture and thats it. made me :[ . its more like a new story with new characters and blah blah blah it wouldve been more awesome if they showed anything of the old series (cartoons or comic wise). and when the hell did april learn to fight???/

and id still prefer live action than 3d. though some of them crazy ninja hops do look cool

Yeah, I have been a TMNT fan (having seen the show and the movies as well as read a fair amount of the comics) and this movie really was like a trip through the history of the turtles, keeping a good mix of the dark, comic feel and leaving in a few jokes. The ending came on way too fast

Spoilers:
OH LET'S JUST DRIVE THE MONSTER INTO THE LIGHT

but as long as there's a sequel, I'll deal with it.

The whole story was a bit flawed, but interesting. The CG was great, but hurt my eyes a little after a while. Took some getting used to. And the voices were almost perfect.

I'll give it a ***/**** but it's really better than that.

Yeah, I don't mind them using new villains (I didn't even care too much about the Shredder in the old comics/cartoon, it's just that he's classic by this point) but they need better ones than the guy in this movie. I just didn't care for him at all, not that it ruined the movie.

My knowledge on the comics is a bit rusty, but wasn't Karai the Shredder's daughter? I know she was his adopted daughter in the 2k3 cartoon series, so if they went that route with the movie I think it would have been a lot more natural to have her as the main villain, seeing as y'know the Turtles killed her papa. Max Winters and the monsters seemed to be kind of going overboard, but ah well.

I guess having Karai and the Foot be the villains would have been too much like the earlier movies or something, but I think they could have gotten away with it considering all the CGI stuff they can do now. I'd also really like to see Baxter Stockman and the Mousers in a movie.

Haven't seen it yet... I don't think I'll go to the cinema to see it any way. Maybe rent the DVD, I dunno.

On the subject of the villains, I think it would be better to have Karai be the bigger villain than this other guy. Just how bigger a role is his compared to hers?

And just so everyone is clear, Bebop and Rocksteady are completely out of the question because Eastman and Laird despise both of them and never want them to appear anywhere ever again.

They don't appear in the movie, but their names are like the first thing you hear in the rap song that plays during the credits.

Oh man, was I looking forward to this. I've been a huge fan of the classic series, (the new one not so much) and an even bigger fan of the Arcade/NES games. When I left the movie I was disappointed, but much less then I thought I'd be.
It's good to see a lot of the movie return to it's roots. The biggest thing would be the characters are more modeled after their older versions. As with Splinter who looks much better now. On the same note of that, the best part of the movie was the animation. The turtles looked a bit iffy to me at first but I quickly grew to love them and I think this is the best Turtles film visually. The battle in the rain was fantastic and the film never did disappoint in this section.
The weakest point of the film was the story. The monster plot was downright stupid and failed to capture my attention. There were many shortcuts taken such as "Looks...South American" Seriously, how lazy are you to make a line like that? I did like how the story continued where the other films left off, and the April & Casey deal. The Ralph deal was also great. Another point I liked was the tribute to the older films. Cowabunga Carl for instance. Though there were a lot of missed opportunities, such as TMNT arcade games in the base. Overall the film was good. I liked it, though it was weak in some pretty big spots.

(Oh and I didn't even notice all the celeb voices; Chris Evans, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Mako, Kevin Smith, Patrick Stewart, Laurence Fishburne)

APRIL FOOLS

Hahaha, it's even funnier because he blatantly used the IMDB version of the quote which is horribly wrong for a couple of reasons.

It comes from the trailer for one thing, which is obvious since Mikey doesn't say "Did anyone get the license plate of that thing that hit us last night? It looked like your mom, dude!" without interruptions. But what's funnier is how they added "nuts" to the end of it, which is said in neither the movie or the trailer.

Yeah man that Rotten Ralph cameo was totally sweet, but what were they thinking not putting the TMNT arcade games in the movie?!
