PS3 Launch today...

...For the rest of the world.... finally. Now I can have the pleasure of paying £425 on a less powerful, 5 month delayed console with a pretty boring selection of games. Hurray. No doubt there'll be queues for it anyway, so just a warning if you're out and about.

Now the seventh generation of console "wars" can really begin.

What's funny is how they didn't even have to really lift a finger in this case, but since they were prepared they might end up eliminating the PS3 from Europe altogether.

This is easily the best launch of the new generation.

I find it funny.
In shopping centers in my city, they're making "PS3 launch parties".
But there was never a 360 launch party or a Wii launch party.
I wonder who goes there for the PS3 actually.

I have a new found respect for Microsoft, just because of that boat.

Nintendo should take advantage of this... it's the first real time Sony's showed any weakness since like, 1995.

Yeah I saw it in action today and despite MORE DETAIL there's nothing new to me. I still think shadow of the colossus is beautiful.

Oh and, notice how all the UK stores are plastered with "IN STOCK" on the PS3 boxes. Try looking for a game shop with those on the Wii's.


Oh and what pisses me off is, GAME are doing an offer to trade in your Wii for a Ps3 plus like £300, and have all these magical offers the Wii never got when it came out.

HAH HA! HAH HA! HAH HA! HAH HA! HAH HA! HAH HA! HAH HA! HAH HA! HAH HA!

And oh man that link is funny, especially the first comment.

I'd be better if Nintendo didn't enter this so-called battle. It'd just be better if Nintendo just moved a long and have the face of a smart and serious man.

Just like those Mac vs PC commercials. I'm a big Apple fan. But those commercials are just plain dumb. By telling you're better, you have to dis/insult/make fun of the other. A weak strategy if you ask me.

I think quite the opposite, because I'm evil like that.

In my opinion this is the perfect time for Nintendo to get revenge on Sony after the N64 and GameCube. If I were them I'd be siding with Microsoft on this one. They wouldn't neccessarily have to join a war against Microsoft, but damn, it would be funny for Sony to be screwed over by both of them.

Sega would have been the best here though. The greatest video games adverts of all time must be those attacking Sony and Nintendo. "Genesis does what Nintendon't" is probably the best slogan any games company's ever come up with. Ever.
