Just because one system can produce better visuals than another does not automatically indicate that graphics are the only selling point it has and that gameplay is always sacrificed.

Also, way to go off the topic of graphics while you criticized the other consoles, and not exactly in the most non-biased way either. The PSP uses disks, the DS uses really small cartridges that can be easy to lose. The Xbox 360 has games like the DOA game, and it also has games like Viva Piñata.

You wouldn't play a game no matter how good the story is if the graphics sucked ass.

To be fair, what makes a good game is good graphics and good playability, i.e. if I can control my character, and how fun it is to do the things I do.

Plot should be an afterthought in what makes a game good.

Good graphics should replaced with good art direction/design.

Gameplay is very important to a game, but also graphics and the overall look of the game itself. Sure, you can say it looks fun, but your also going to need to represent it in some form to attract people for them to even play the game. Wind Waker, example. I personally LOVED the art style and look of it very much, but not many fans would touch it because it wasn't the Zelda style people were familiar with in Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask. Wind Waker played like a dream, but it's Celda look drove alot of people away, sadly. To sum it up, Graphics are JUST as important as gameplay.

I like how people who pass themselves off as "artists" are usually the ones that fail to realize that games have art elements of their own, and must work together for the piece to kick ass

I love the fact that if you were partial and loved the PS3, you wouldn't be complaining about any of this.

The cover is the first impression that a book is going to make.

Decent visuals are important for sales. It is the first thing the consumer is going to see before they make their purchase. You don't always get to try the game before you buy it after all.

Graphics and gameplay have to work hand in hand. If it's some descriptive detective game thingy, graphics might not be as important. But most other games are tons more effective and fun with good graphics.

I do not play games for graphics, no, but if a game has good graphics, is it so bad I stop and drool for a bit? Seriously, Gears of War is so damn pretty, I love it.

let's face it, graphics matter. And Pac-Man sucks, Tetris is better.

I dis-like when people say that apparently a game is unable to emit both great graphics and great gameplay at the same time.


Today's modern discs have enough memory to allow that.

Commonly i read the back.According to what i think you should have no problem with finding a game with good graffix.It's the 7th generation 128 bit era.
Try looking for what games you like or has a good plot.
Handhelds support graffix between a certain console and another even though the ds has more 2D games excluding 16 bit handhelds.So same applies you won't find very smooth polygons.(soft doesn't count)

All those games you listed are PC available too (which is what i prefer)

For the 360-PC games you need a really awesome $1000+ PC to properly play the games, so buying the 360 for them is cheaper and/or better if you prefer using the 360 controler, which I do.
