I can't figure out how to make the view NOT go back in GM6.1! Please help me.

By that I mean like in Super Mario Bros, where the view doesn't go back. That sorta thing.

Make it so on the player's "left" press, it sets the view_hbor to 0, and the player can only move back when his x is greater then view_xview. Then on right press, set the view_hbor to -1. Easy.

Make a separate camera object

And to it's step event:
CODE
If x larger than mario.x
move to position (self.x,mario.y)
else
move to position (mario.x,mario.y)

That's how it works in ume. And this code also allows vertical scrolling along the way.
