Plans to remove math WASL, Jeez.

Well, your local psychic is off to visit your mother! Group: Members Posts: 6252 Member No.: 2501 Joined: 15-August 06 Status: (0d)	Apparently, the Washington Assessment of Student Learning is stumping people in the Math and Science areas. Well, the WASL is there to make sure they're doing well, right? Well, kids have been doing SO poorly, they're planning on removing these parts. I think it's a step backwards: after all math is a pretty important thing to know in life. I've just been gathering the info from my parents, so I haven't heard the news from the school board myself. But my parents are ticked. To be honest, I'm a little ticked too: they're raising a generation of braindead burger grillers with this ploy. What do you think about this decision? -------------------- Falcon Punch is the result of the Sun heating fists. It drives the Blue Falcon. Its as if they WANT people to grow up into braindead sheep, with no intellect and not being able to think for themselves. In short, they want to turn people into nice, dumb and obedient sheep. I didn't like maths in secondary school ( the fact our teacher couldn't handle a class was one of the reasons ) but I knew it was important to pass it. In fact, while I know they need to change the way they teach the course in schools here, I'd be pretty ticked if they tried dumbing it down. Look, the more menial labor a community can provide, the bigger the luxury the elite will enjoy, and hey, who runs the school board?

Its not like you need math if you're gonna bag groceries and clean houses. Of course, there will be those who would want to go further, to excel. Those people would simply need to work hard to get a real nice reward.

Yes, it'll segregate the community, one part where the HARD WORKING people who make use of their education and one part who's stupid and ******s.
