Not that I agree with what Imus was saying on the radio, but come on, I think they've spanked the man enough now.

It is debatable to whether or not the comment is racist. Although I wasn't offended by it by any means, I still think it could be considered racist because the term "nappy" normally refers to blacks (atleast from my experience).

They're just picking on the old man too much. I mean he didn't say the worst things on the show.

I heard something about him having a "history" of saying racial comments, so that might have influenced the decision. =/

But nappy can be used for anyone; not just blacks. It has a condescending tone from the way people use it, though.


But I've seen lots of nappy headed white spanish and asian people though.

From what I've heard everyone that complained against him had there own personal record of racial slurs and they were forced to give a public apology.

During the 2004 presidential debates, he called a black female moderator "the cleaning lady".

All the better.
After learning about him, he was nothing better than a bigotted imbicile.

The only thing that I care about in this is the fact my grandfather won't stop saying what the guy said every time he hears about it on the news. =\

Anyone, you realize this only happened because Al Sharpton made a fuss, and thus since we ALL LISTEN TO AL SHARPTON (for some ridiculous reason) then everyone else made a fuss.

But people will use the argument that since Imus was in a...professional position like that , he shouldn't of said it. That's understandable.

Or they might use this ridiculous excuse for an argument as a back up, as seen in a link on that article I posted. I think it was about the origins of the word nappy. The person basically said it's ok when blacks say it, but not any other group.

I just wish EVERYONE would stop calling each other these stupid names, but that will never happen.
