By definition there is NO difference between a sprite and a pixelart. Techincally, the only difference in their definitions are that sprites are always used in video games, while pixel arts can be (therefore not always are) used in video games.
Oh, and I know someone is going to say "Pixelarts are big and sprites are small" or something, so I'll say this now; that it completely untrue, it's possible to have an 8x8 pixelart or a 2,000x2,000 sprite. I also know someone will say "Sprites have multiple poses". So basically, going by that, the instance in which I make another pose it magically changes from a pixel art to a sprite? Or the instance in which I find a use for mine in a game it's automatically a sprite?
In all honesty I don't mind if I get disqualified or whatever, I had fun making mine and learned a lot from it and that's all that's important. If it is not allowed, hoever, I would at least like these questions answered:
What is the difference between a pixelart and a sprite?
If there is a difference between the two, it's obviously very small. And all sprites are pixelart, though argueably not all pixelarts are sprites. So why disqualify "pixelart", that which is "different" from sprites?
The only reason, it seems, is that "'Pixelarts' always look better than 'sprites' and therefore give the maker of the 'pixelart' an unfair advantage," which is totally untrue, because, since the two are made in the exact same fashon, it's all dependant on the creator's skill.
--------
Heh, sorry for the rant, I just love debating over petty things. Like I said, I don't care if mine's disqualified or not, but I wanna know the difference between sprites and pixelarts.
@ Rep: I know you can do much better, but it's damn awesome anyway ;D @ SL15: Looks pretty cool I say. :3
