Well, this is the first sprite comp I've ever entered in my 2 years at MFGG.
Here goes nothing..

To say you haven't entered in 2 years, its good, but try to avoid using that shading technique as it tends to make things look bumpy and gives an unwanted 3d-ish effect. Sorry if that sounds BS. :P

I'm beginning to notice a pattern with a majority of the entries...

Actually, it doesn't "sound like BS". I love getting your input, because I'm still nubby at the spriting thing. I won't ask you for any more input though, since this is a competition. xP

EDIT: I'm using the first ref. Because the other ones seemed to large.

If the two that aren't completed get completed, we'll have five entries!
This will be a close match from what I can tell.

Rep-Koopa, yours is looking good so far. If you want my advice, it doesn't look papery enough. But you might be trying to do him in a different style so I'll just be quiet.

Quickie-la, yours is very nice. I did notice one thing, he's the wrong way around. Just flip him horizontally.

On a different subject...

is probably the nicest thing ever said to me on MFGG. Thankyou.

I just knew everybody would do the same pose, and I never sprite Paper mario style because it makes things look bad.

You're really does look nice, with nice lineart, but the worst bad shading. Mines pretty much the exact opposite. Bad lineart but good shading.

I think I will try and get back in the saddle with this, but school sucks so bad I dunno. :X
