The default colour is the boring old grey bricks that's usually associated with the basic Mario castles. I didn't really want to show off the default colours too much since I'm trying to show off exactly what this tileset can do with a bit of tweaking. If I didn't, I fear people will just make more of the same.

Not really, its the person who uses it who could change the tileset, but they are too lzay and all they do is design levels.

I see you have made a major improvement on your color choices.

To me, it doesn't look like a castle! It looks like a factory!

Note: MS Paint doesn't have a Color Replacement tool. Neither does Game Maker's built-in image editor (from what I've seen) nor anything made by Clickteam. And you can't copy paste from an advanced editor like Paint 2.0 or The GIMP, which have this tool. You might with Photoshop, but it's a hassle to obtain, so people don't bother.

If you want people to use pallete variations, you gotta do the whole thing yourself. Separate sheet, perhaps? =/

Yes, it does.

I believe it actually has one secretly, but I myself use a program that has color replacement tools. If the sheet is released with single color sets, I could take a few minutes or so and produce alternative palettes! =D

Tile Molester has a color replacer.

Anyway, these are looking pretty nice so far. The bottom left one looks way too dark though, and it my not need all the texture.

But it's still nice.

Its cool but I liked 06 better.

As Someguy stated, yeah, MSPaint Color replacement tool exists, but it's hidden/secret.

Simply use the eraser with the right mouse button.

If anyone wants to know:
Take the eye dropper tool and left click on the colour you wanna replace. Then right click on the colour you wanna replace it with and then hold down the right mouse thingie and erase the colour you wanna replace.
Thats it.

His point is that if someone steals them now, they'd be stuck with lower-quality, slightly blurred tiles, since he saved the preview images he posted as JPEGs, while the original tiles, the ones he's actually working on, are higher-quality.


Anyway, on-topic: HOLY COW. I can't believe I never actually examined this topic before. This is easily one of the best-looking custom tilesets I've ever seen. I can't wait to see the final results!

If the preview image is in JPEG why does it show up in a PNG. format?

I had a feeling this might be bumped again after that topic in the PPP.

I'll most likely make a separate topic when I'm done (or rather, nearly done), the purpose of that will be so others can find errors/things that need improving in the set before I upload it on the main site. I may have made all the tiles myself but that doesn't mean they're all fantastic. There might be something painfully obvious I've missed that would go unnoticed otherwise.
