A lot of members on Smogon use an Action Replay to re-stock their shops, check IVs and hatch eggs faster.

so many people like ARs cause there amazing,and just cause you don't like them doesn't mean other people don't liek them!!!!

AR-ing pokemon is a rather cheap way in my opinion...I spent a few years training a originally LeafGreen starter Venusuar until he hit level 100. I felt so dang good about that, too.

Heck, you may like AR, but boasting over those who try the traditional method is just wrong. Please just keep that detail to yourself, you wouldn't need to exclaim that before a trade.

EDIT: Plus, if you have AR, can't you just give yourself one? I know my friends have done that. (I admit to getting one of their promo legendaries they got, it was too good to pass!)

Yeah, it's much more rewarding to breed a timid typhlosion with 31 IVs in hp, sp attack and speed through traditional means (no AR used), than use pokesav to create that same typhlosion with a few clicks.

but in the game, both would be considered to be the same.... *shrugs* at least smogon has finally figured out the IV patterns for every nature; with that, members can finally see if a set of IVs is legal with its nature or not. Makes passing off hacked pokemon as legit much harder

True, but using an AR would make the process of breeding and EV training so much more quick.

I guess that is a good reason to use AR... I tend to exploit glitches already in the game (seeing the nature of the pokemon before it hatches using the PC), but I don't like using an AR to like, hatch an egg in one step or make the baby always have the same nature ._.

They don't use a nature modifier because that would be cheating. Hatching an egg in one step may seem like cheating, but it does not present an unfair advantage online and just saves time in the long run.

I also use codes to give my pokemon a certain amount of EVs in a stat, but I do not surpass the global limit of 510 and individual limit of 255 per stat. You get the exact same results with traditional EV training.

Smogon only allows codes that speed up non-random processes or to obtain items like TMs.
