| QUOTE (Grant @ May 1 2007, 04:24 PM) | | As for World War II, nobody can seriously say that the Nazis were religious. |
Nazis were religious.
I noticed he relates it to the "colour" black; but he seems to mismatch physical objects that reflect all light (black paint on a car) with the idea that when we see no colour we see black. Also I'm guessing this guy is a reverent or bishop or concerned Christian parent; ka-yawn. EDIT: Just noticed the "Rev." before his name on the link :>
| QUOTE (Rev. Bill McGinnis) | | ...the Theory of Evolution asserts that all life forms are created not by God, but by pre-existing natural processes. This is pure Atheism! If we are not created by God, then there might as well be no God, for all the difference He makes. |
He doesn't seem to have actually read anything about the Theory of Evolution as it does not rule out the idea of a God; many Christians believe evolution is God's tool of creation and prefer it to the idea he just magically creates things without establishing nature etc etc.
| QUOTE | | If black is a color, then Atheism is a religion. |

| QUOTE (Grant @ May 2 2007, 06:21 PM) | What on earth? Of course they weren't.
Just go ahead and tell me what religion they belonged to. If they had any religious pretensions whatsoever, it was only for the sake of making their cause appear more justified. They did nothing out of real religious motives.
P.S. If anyone believes any absurd myths about the Nazis being Catholics (I'm not sure such myths exist, though ones do exist about one or more Popes being sympathetic to Nazism, which they decidedly were not), they need to be reminded that Hitler was a major persecutor of Catholics, flagrantly breaking the concordat he made (obviously not out of devoutness or conviction) with the Pope. |
Real religious motives? What are you on about?
Of course they were real, they believed that was the true way. It is not in any way different from the phenomena we are seeing in the middle east nowadays, where small children are thaught a skewed, wrong and heavily edited version of islam.
Get off your high horse. Much of Hitler's power came from the power of the church. He was both the highest political leader and the highest religious leader.
They were religious, and yes they were christians. It may not have been a form of christianity that you consider pure or true. But it was one.
