he's not making a game, he's working out an entire game creation utility for easily making 3d games.

The blocks are like that as i was trying some things on them for making them better to push, they are for testing, just incase you want diagonal stairs/blocks instead of ones going up normally.

The new version rock!
There should be a reset button that removes all the block/coins/shrooms/stars.
Then I wouln't have to keep exitting and openning the file over and over again.
Also, can you make the castle bigger? It's quite small right now.

Whoa, calm down, Blitz3D isn't like Game Maker of MMF, it's an entire language you have to completely learn before doing something like this.

The level is small, using for my testing purposes, you could create your own level and replace the one in the demo, just create it as you want. No optimisations are done yet with levels etc, since i switch over to newton and rewrote a lots of things i changed lots of stuff to do with levels.

I will add the delete objects from a demo so you don't need to reload, simple to do for me.

I might add some more cool stuff, you most likely won't see or hear much from me over the next week cos i won't have time to prgram, got more important things to do.

ps plus i need to sit down with my note pad and start planning how the editor will function and what it will allow.

Im in the process of setting up sounds for the physics objects ie if a coin hits the wall, the sound needs to represent the velocity of the impact.

I've added the deleting physics objects, i'll post a new demo tmrw night when i've added some other stuff. It'll be the last for a week or 2.

I'll startup a webpage soon too, be easier for people to see whats going now with this project.

How did you do the Newton Physics and still having the game run that fast, even with many objects? (I don't really want an answer on this one, just asking it to show my amazedness =) )

I got the models from mkdd using bmdview2, i then rigged them and animated them (not too good, but getting better).

@guinea id say good coding and the awesomeness of newton dynamics. This is all without optimastions too. When i add proper level code, shadow and collision mesh stuff etc, performance will be greatly improved!

I'll add a config option when i get the chance so you guys can edit speed, animation speed, turnrates, accell etc on the character, as like someone said they need tweaking, the dash etc doesn't seem as fast as it could be.

ps one thing im really looking forward to is 3d, 2d mario games, 3d platformers are a hard game to get right whereas 2d ones are so much fun and can built with less problems ie cameras. Imagine walking onto a bridge, the camera spins round to the side and the camera locks to a 2d view thus giving a mixture and turning the 3d platformer into hybrid. Exploration in 3d and level play in a 3d/2d hybrid. It's one thing i've looked into and will be possible.
