I have a suggestion: Why not show genders?, Y'know, like on PT

Shows a little male/female sign under your user title. Just for convenience.

Doesn't do much, but I support the idea.

PT's board as a whole is an updated version of this one with a few random mods attached. I don't know much in terms of paid boards, but the gender thing might come as standard on a newer version of IPB.

But femails don't like being called mails. Thats the problem.

Even though such information could be usefel, I belive that it might be a pretty useless thing to have below your usertitle. Possibly in ones profile. But still, is it really that neccesary?

I can only imagine how many people would be changing their gender icon like they change their socks.

Oh man and you could pull up lists on all the females so you could swoon over them.

I say hell no, because then it'd be harder to ignore their gender. Seriously.

On one hand, I won't embaress myself when I make a mistake in guessing one's gender, as I had done when I joined, and mistakingly thought that Ylle and FuPoo were both girls. Yeah. Sorry, guys.

But on the other hand, it's really not necessary information and can just lead to a bunch of male members trying to get the affection of a female member. (Lest we forget the "Raiepocolypse" or the Quickie-La incident?)

Females are pretty obvious to spot anyways, partly because their introduction topics contain "HI I'M A <X> YEAR OLD GIRL WHO LIKES <Japanese Animation> AND <Food>".
