Absolute Light Beam Controls: Well, it's hard to make a game like that. I'm sure people have, but I really just don't have that level of skill.
Automatic Light Beams: That removes the challenge from much of the first half of the game. Do you really want that?
Game Save: It's. A. Freaking. Demo. There are going to be over 50 levels, OF COURSE I'M ADDING A SAVE FEATURE.
Shadow Mario: Damnit, IT'S BEEN STATED BEFORE! I can fix it. It's not a huge problem. In fact, fixing it will also keep Mario on screen.
The Second Boss Problem: This wasn't stated yet, but I feel I should say... the second boss often gets stuck in the ground. I don't know how. But I'm trying to fix that as best I can, and I've really been trying.
But, everybody everybody, I have until October 8th to finish the game. I have 14 out of 52 levels done! There are over 60 days left until the deadline! One level per day leaves me a lot of room for improvments! The bonuses will not be hard to program, because they're basically upgrades and a few extras.
So, just sit tight. Most of the bugs should be ironed out.

Falcon Punch is the result of the Sun heating fists. It drives the Blue Falcon. Heating causes destruction of water into the pain, where it then hurts, creating rain. Rain creates flowing water in tears, which can then be converted into other forms through more pain.

OK, here is my C+C: The name seems a bit off with the M&L sprites, 2.5D graphics, lightstreams etc..., but whatever, its your project, call it what you want. Few annoying glitches: Ie being able to jump past light streams and the end of the level off of the screen. Jumping where two koopas are walking hurts you regardless. Map menu can seem a little long winded, perhaps use a path instead? Also, I find the lack of a run button leaves me to quickly drop whatever power I picked up, and it seems like the powerup is picked at level start, and features as the same powerup through the entire level?
Apart from that above, and a few other things you know that need to be fixed from the demo version, this looks like a great project, and I hope you gert ropund to finishing it soon. Sorry if any of my comments had already been mentioned by other people.

Several of these problems are addressed, excluding the map screen, which I intend to keep that way, and the powerups, which are not preset for a level.
But yes, the game is nearly finished. Only two more levels to go (both of which are boss battles, the final one being HUGE), and then bada-bing; we're done!
