so did the n64 out of the gate and look how that went (and don't go "LOL 30 MILLION VS 100 MILLION, STILL A LOT!"; that's still a ton of market share from the snes days pissed away and the trend is gonna be hard to buck whether ign says so or not)

If he means that the Wii will not be forward-compatible with Nintendo's next system, then I agree. It's a fair assumption, and one supported by evidence.
No console has ever been forward-compatible with the system that succeeded it and the games it will use.

Yes, that is good idea. But you should make software for non-DRM system as well.

And has rechargeable batteries built in with HD (its confirmed) then probably. Nintendos probably thinking about the system right now, so they'll come up with something. --------------------
