But it's incorrect to think that her disposition wasn't at all a factor in her actions.

And anyway, she didn't actually do anything. In fact, anybody who actually bothers to approach this topic with a bit of logic would see that, in all likelihood, she had no intention of going through with the murders--she left the note in a teacher's mailbox. She wanted to be caught. If she were actually planning on making good on her threats, she would've just done it without confessing beforehand. This isn't about murder, it's about attention.

People, shes 17 years old, little girl? I think not... And anyways, Elly, I see that you are trying to justify what she did, she threatened to kill 28 students, including myself, and I have no doubt that she had the means to carry out this threat. She deserves whatever she gets...

You're right. At seventeen, you're PERFECTLY capable of making important decisions like that.

Let me get this clear Jeff, you say she doesn't deserve to be thread like that just cuz she wrote a list down? right?...You mean it was just a list...a joke?...

What she deserves is psychiatric treatment for whatever the hell makes her so angry and attention-hungry. What she doesn't deserve is to be treated as if she actually murdered the people on that list, which is what everybody here is doing.

Yes, I agree that 17 is still not an adult, but she isn't 5, this wasn't a joke, she probably meant that she, if given the chance, would kill these people. And being one of these people, I think what she did was wrong!

BTW I'm home from school today as a result of this incident...

Looking into why she did it, and taking into consideration such factors in judging her culpability, doesn't automatically have to do with sympathy. I cannot see what she did as having been possibly caused by anything that could exonerate her from serious wrongdoing, and though it might be that she shouldn't be hated really strongly if circumstances were bad for her, sympathy is just totally undeserved in my view. If she did something much lesser in degree of wrong, then perhaps she could be sympathized with to some extent; but what she did was pretty damn major, and pretty far past the point, I think, where people should feel anything positive about her where this event is concerned.

If anybody would like to know what happened to her... I'm pretty sure that she was sent to a Juvie sort of place, I'll find out more when I get back into school.

well I agree with the first part.
Tho, I agree half with the second part, she didn't kill them...but you see with these cases of students who kill others happening a lot lately I do think they should do something about it, is just a list, something that in the other case they found and I dont think is funny to go "l00loz I'll make a list and see if they take me to jail".
She does deserve to be thread that way, even if she didn't kill them she knew people would take this seriously.

What the hell does "thread" mean in this context? You used it in the other post I quoted earlier, and I originally figured it was just a typo.

Anyway, even if she expected this to be taken seriously, that still doesn't mean this is as bad as actually murdering somebody. Would you tell the relative of a murder victim that what they went through is exactly as traumatic as having your name written on a piece of paper?
