DO YOU THINK MFGG SITE NEEDS A CLEAN UP!

it probably take a lot of time and i think we did have this conversation a while Back but i seriously think we need a site clean up. Half the sprites i seen was Crappy and probably not useful at all.

is there anything we can do to convince you mods that we really want the site to have a big clean up.

Why do people Ignore this topic

Most of the old stuff we keep for preservation and history purposes.
Although there ARE some modern submissions that are really crappy that I wouldnt have added.

That's one of the biggest complaints about MFGG is that anything can be accepted and generally there seems to be a "quantity > quality" belief in a lot of the members. A cleanup would greatly benefit the site, I think.

I want that one sheet of mario megaman 8-bit thingy to be delete it! its just annoying to read a description that says "an awesome 8-bit sheet of mario!" and then you see on pose only....

So.. who is exactly Letting these through.

Older ones shouldn't necessarily be exempt from future changes. Games, I'm in complete favor of leaving in place. But a lot of older sprite sheets have since been eclipsed by better, more complete sheets - why bother keeping the older ones around. There's a ton of duplication on the site now.

I agree that some sprites are useless... but apparently the sprites weren't crappy... two site maintainers accepted them.

There's like 8bit shoelaces and **** in there.

because it's misguided

there really isn't that much benefit to having a cleanup right now, it sure as hell won't get people more motivated in terms of fangaming or anything and that's the site's biggest problem right now

I'm pretty sure it's OK, as long as no one says anything insulting about the people who created them, and any criticism stays within the bounds of reason.

The 8 bit SMB style sprites that have been popping up are pretty bad.

I mean, SMB's graphics aren't very good at all. However, due to it being the first game in the series, it's an accepted sprite because of plain nostalgia.

But none of these SMB style sprites aren't. It just seems like an excuse to not put in details.
