Whoops, did it sound that way? I mean animals rely ONLY on instinct and basic problem solving skills to survive, whereas we use an advanced sense of thought, feelings, thinking ect. that I find hard to believe just "happened". Even if you do believe in evolution and not creationism, why would you want to? Why believe the human race was just a random, accidental merging of some basic proteins and all of civilization is founded on two puddles of goo? Why?

because that makes a hell of a lot more sense to me than men being made from sand/dust/whatever and women being made from ribs... by something that is not tangible in any way

I have little to say concerning stuff. So bascally, I believe what I believe and you belive what you believe. It's so complicated and diverse with many gaps and contradictions that arguing is rather pointless, especially when opinions are involved.

Also I don't understand how anyone can consider it likely for any further evolution to occur. Advantageous mutations, or at least ones of any real importance, almost never happen, and even assuming that evolution did occur, it could quite easily happen that humans wouldn't undergo any more positive evolving. No matter how repugnant some may find this analogy, large-scale evolution is still comparable in statistical terms to a monkey striking random keys on a keyboard and spelling out the works of Shakespeare. Expecting any more major evolution to occur is like expecting the monkey to type even more literature after it's done with Shakespeare.

I can hardly believe I typed all this on my Wii. :O

How about this; loads of people are immune to a disease that doesn't exist yet. Disease occurs, half the population die.

By your (lack of) logic, humans rely entirely on our so called "advanced thought" to get us through life. But hey, where do the problem solving abilities of animals come from? Oh gee, I don't know, MAYBE BECAUSE THEY CAN THINK AS WELL? (Just not exactly on the same "advanced level" as us.)

Why wouldn't you want to know where humans originated? Well gee, I guess if you wanted to stay ignorant and in the dark (hey, just like those animals that don't think, and thus don't care about why they exist!) about your origins, be my guest.

And if you're going to support Creationism, at least attempt to back it up like Grant is, and not by just saying "LOL WHO CARES", because clearly you're the only one that doesn't.

I went to this youth group a while back, and we had a special guest speaker. She told us all this stuff that the article mentions, and she believed it. She was trying to prove evolution to be invalid. And I kid you not, SHE SAID DRAGONS REALLY EXISTED ONCE and protected castles back in the times of lore. Also, they could breathe fire. She backed this statement up by showing pictures of fire breathing lizards that are alive today in china.

Then i left laughing.
